2015 South Pemiscot High School MASH Camp

High school students from across the region attended the 2015 South Pemiscot High School MASH Camp in Steele, Missouri on Tuesday, June 2 and Wednesday, June 3.  Camp activities included:  vital signs, infection control, proper gloving, CPR, first aid, suturing on bananas, injections on oranges, patient intubation simulation, ambulance tour, air evac helicopter tour, OMM demonstration, and a cow eyeball dissection lab.

A special thank you goes out to South Pemiscot High School Counselor Jeanne Dent, Medic One Field Supervisor and Paramedic Kevin Coffell, Dr. Nicole Waters, 4th Year KCOM Medical Student Amanda Krus, and ACES student volunteer Victoria Adams for helping facilitate this extraordinary educational opportunity!

The experience with Medic One was amazing.  It was very informative and intriguing.  Kevin was very nice and patient with teaching us things.  I really enjoyed seeing the helicopter and learning how it all worked.  Overall I would say the experience was very helpful and interesting.
