SEMO AHEC ACES students Hit the Road for Health Careers on Thursday, June 12, 2014. Students attending the two day event participated in a hands-on, skill based tour of programs at Truman State University and A.T. Still University in Kirksville, MO.
Students were divided into two tracks: Undergrad Health Programs or Graduate Health Programs. The Undergrad Health Programs track included Communication Disorders, Nursing, Health Science, Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Ultrasound, and the SIM Lab. Students that registered for the Graduate Health Programs track walked in the footsteps of medical and dental students with activities in Microbiology, Anatomy, Dentistry, Ultrasound, and the SIM Lab.
Students also learned about the history of the first school of osteopathy and the newest dental school in the United States – ATSU and MOSDOH.
Our ACES students can’t wait to do it again! Thank you to the staff at NEMO AHEC for organizing this great learning opportunity!
