2014 Sikeston M*A*S*H Camp

High school students from Sikeston, Dexter, New Madrid, Bernie, and Portageville attended the Sikeston M*A*S*H Camp on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 and Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Sikeston Career & Technology Center.  Camp activities included:  health careers presentation, vital signs, infection control, proper hand washing, proper gloving, coordination training by shaving balloons, dental hygienist presentation, oral health activity with dental heads, transfusion matching blood types (clinical lab tech simulation), injections on oranges, suturing on bananas, CPR and AED certification training, first aid, cow eyeball dissection lab, and an OMM presentation and demonstration.

A special thank you goes out to Gloria Houston, RN and SCTC Health Occupations Instructor; Lindsey Mercer, RDH; Dr. Nicole Waters; Christina Pavelko and Alicia King, 3rd year KCOM Medical Students; and ACES student Victoria Adams for volunteering their time to make this camp a huge success!
